We hope you have enjoyed your summer and found some time to relax before coming back for the 2010/2011 school year.

We also hope that you find our new website informative and useful. Please check back often as updates will be done frequently. If you have any suggestions for content, please do not hesitate to contact your representative who will bring your suggestions to our council meetings.

Important Retirement Information
If you are of retirement age, be sure to advise the state of our intention to retire EVERY YEAR even if you have no intention to retire. If you do not do this you run the risk of your family losing your pension benefits if you should die before you retire.

Important Insurance Information

The new pharmacy plan for the PPO has at least one significant difference than what our prior plan had. The new pharmacy plan requires members to purchase the prescription and file forms for reimbursement. When combined with the mid-year change to a new carrier, members are also having to pay the deductible again. This should not be. Any member who has the PPO should save all their pharmacy receipts and paperwork associated with any prescription purchase until we can get this resolved. If they do not save all the paperwork they may end up paying more than they should.

All members are strongly urged to scrutinize their Explanations of Beneifits to make sure that there are no other changes in the benefit plan that we have not been told about. If you are not sure about what the benefit should be please contact Dee Abate in the board office.
